Invisible Braces

Design

Invisalign is an innovative system which uses a series of clear plastic aligners which are made to fit over your teeth, gradually moving them into their desired position and straightening them. There is no need for brackets, archwires or elastic band. No-one will know you are wearing braces.

Every Day living

Because the aligners are removable, they can be removed for eating, drinking and brushing, making them a hassle-free form of orthodontic treatment. You can also remove them when playing sports or musical instruments, or for those important business meetings and other occasions, such as first dates!

How it works

Each set of aligners, one for the top teeth and one for the bottom, should be worn for approximately two weeks. You will then need to change them. Each new set works to progressively move your teeth into their new position. Every set of aligners is shaped slightly differently according to your bespoke treatment plan, so they build on the work of the previous set. As you replace the aligners your teeth gradually move into their desired position.

Traditional Metal Braces

Design

Traditional braces are more effective at treating extreme overcrowding than other options like clear braces or Invisalign aligners and are less expensive. They give your orthodontist the control they need to move the teeth in small increments at a time. The main disadvantage of traditional braces is the metal mouth appearance.

Every Day living

Avoid chewy foods, like caramels or other soft candies, as well as very hard or crunchy foods that could damage your braces. Brushing and flossing regularly will keep your braces looking good and help you avoid staining to your teeth.

How it works

Traditional metal braces are made up of three key parts: small metal brackets which are bonded to the front surface of your teeth, thin metal archwires which connect these brackets, and small elastic bands (ligatures) which are placed around the brackets. These parts work together to apply gentle pressure to your teeth to move them into position.
