Leon graduated from the Turner Dental School, Manchester University in 1965. He obtained a commission with the Royal Army Dental Corps in 1963 and in 1966 was posted to Exeter, with the infantry, and then in 1970 to Munster, West Germany with the Guards Armoured Corps Division.

In 1972 he left the Army to pursue his interest in Prosthetic Dentistry and became a Senior Registrar in the Prosthetic Department at the Eastman Dental Institute, London. In 1975 Leon moved to Wilmslow, Cheshire where he set up a Private Dental Practice. He also lectured part-time at the M.D.H in the Departments of Prosthetics and Restorative Dentistry.

In Private Practice, Leon developed a special interest in advanced Prosthetics especially the “difficult denture problem”, crown and bridgework and implants. He received prosthetic referrals from colleagues from 1982 until 2001, when he retired from Cheshire and moved to Poole. Leon has joined the South Coast Dental Specialists referral centre.

Leon is registered on the GDC Specialist List in Prosthodontics. He is also President-Elect of the British Society for Restorative Dentistry.

Prosthodontic Referrals
It is always extremely difficult to provide estimates over the telephone. A simple letter of referral from colleagues is requested highlighting the nature of the problems and any relevant medical or psychological history.

I have over 28 years of experience in postgraduate and undergraduate teaching and have a genuine interest in complex full denture construction.

I am happy to treat and advise on difficult denture problems whether they are complete, partial or overdentures, and whether they are of an anatomical, physiological, pathological or emotional nature.

Following a careful examination of the mouth and existing dentures an accurate diagnosis and appropriate treatment plan can then be formulated. This will be discussed with your patient who will be informed of the estimated costs prior to starting treatment.

However, I would be happy to return the patient to the referring practitioner with advice and guidance on the treatment if that is required.
