Conor Mulcahy qualified from Trinity College, Dublin in 1986. After qualification he worked as an Associate in both NHS and Private general practices.

In 1990 he became a Principal in practice in Portsmouth. This practice had a largely elderly patient base and he developed a keen interest in the provision of high quality removable prostheses. In 1995 he returned to further studies and gained an MSc in Prosthetic Dentistry at Guys Hospital graduating in 1997. Immediately on qualification he joined an established specialist referral based practice in Guildford, accepting prosthetic referrals and in 1998 he also joined Graham Browning's practice in Poole on the same basis. Conor still maintains his general practice in Portsmouth and thereby remains acutely aware of the pressures and problems experienced by general practitioners.

Over the last five years Conor has developed a relationship with several surgical colleagues using different implant systems and as a result has experience in the following systems, Straumann, Frialit, IMZ, Nobel Biocare, Sterioss, Astra, Endopore and CoreVent. He also works closely with a number of highly skilled dental technicians to ensure the highest quality laboratory work.

Prosthodontic Referrals
Conor has a particular interest in patient management techniques to assist those into the transition from being partially edentulous to completely edentulous and in helping those patients who have failed to adapt to denture wearing. He therefore welcomes patients faced with imminent tooth loss, those with chronic denture problems and those requiring any form of challenging removable prostheses. While he is prepared to provide the whole spectrum of implant supported restorations it may be of interest to know that over 80% of referred patients are successfully treated with conventional removable prostheses.
